Black Friday and Cyber Monday are history and now the rush is on to complete the shortened 2013 Christmas shopping season.

Here are some holiday safety tips we at SARKA International have put together to help you survive the holiday season and still have a smile on your face come Christmas morning.

Holiday Season Safety Tips

  • Lock doors and windows at all times.
  • Don’t leave gifts and valuables open view.
  • Be cautious of package deliveries where couriers have the “wrong” address. 

If You Go on Vacation:

  • Put your lights on a timer. 
  • Ask a neighbor or friend to watch your house and pick up mail and newspapers.
  •  Have a neighbor park their car in your driveway from time to time.

While Shopping:

  • If possible, shop during daylight hours.
  • Coordinate shopping trips with a friend. 
  • Stay alert to your surroundings and to the people around you. 
  • Park your car in a lighted area.  
  • Lock your car even if you will only be gone for a few minutes.
  • Keep packages and other valuables out of view. ,
  • Don’t overburden yourself with packages. Try to keep one hand free.
  •  Keep handbags and wallets zipped or clasped shut at all times.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash. Pay with a check or credit card whenever possible.
